Thank you to Robin for sharing the photos and story.
Large, two-story bathhouse building, that was used as a gathering place for locals to sauna. There’s a men’s side and a separate woman’s side along with a waiting room and changing room for both sides. The upstairs was rented out to miners on a nightly basis, which the brick flu from the sauna stove helped to heat.
Unique triangular light for both the changing and hot rooms
The sauna hot room; repurposed keg to hold water
Lever on the celling between the two wash areas that creates an opening in the ceiling so the heat can warm the upstairs
There was a mens and women’s side
Lodging was upstairs
Old photo from the property; house and sheds in the background
The daughters and mother would bottle beverages and offer them for sale to those that came to take sauna. When their father, who was a logger, wasn’t there, they would load the wood from the woodshed and get the sauna ready for the towns people/customers.
